With PL7, the only place to enter and address description is in the variables file. It’s already been said in this thread, or another, that a lot of programmers program whatever PLC they program because that just happens to be the type of PLC used where they work. Sorry to say Terry, I do not know the wonders TI can do, but I know AB helped me a lot in some difficult programming situations, such as making use of their indirect and indexed addressing features, which at times greatly reduce your develop time and program size.


Having that bad experience behind me really makes me appreciate my current experience. After much searching and discussing with others, there are no 64bit drivers that I can find for the PKTX comm card. I will always say Watch an animation of a conveyor stacking operation demonstrating the use of a move on a gear command. That was about 10 years ago, and they don’t have anyone there with enough courage to try something different.

It’s just that sometimes I’m overwhelmed by the fact that our site if I may be so bold as to say “our”, Phil is constantly overwhelmed with AB operational problems rather than general PLC programming issues.
